Again the new years eve celebration proved a success. A great night seemed to be had by all,though there were some disturbing queries that may indicate the continuing future of our club.
We will remember the years when if you did not queue early in December you would not expect to be going to the main room for new year.
This year there were still tickets available up to Saturday night. On the evening itself was were a number of empty seats, around the outside and in the middle.
The committee can only support the administration and day to day monitoring of club needs. The club needs all our support throughout the week, particularly at the week ends when entertainment need to be financed.
Otherwise the future holds an admission fee to a pub to support alleged staffing costs and crowded, long queuing nights or the alternative of a celebration at home.
Only the community can keep a facility such as this,left to us by the best endeavors and foresight of those that went before us, only that community will be responsible if that legacy is let to fail.
